Gita Pensa, M.D., is an emergency physician practicing in Rhode Island since 2001. She is currently an Adjunct Associate Professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine. In addition to physician defendant well-being coaching and consulting, Dr. Pensa was the host and editor of AEM Early Access, a research podcast of the Academic Emergency Medicine journal, through 2024.

Jennifer Abraczinskas is the Vice President of Marketing for Curi, where she is responsible for brand management, marketing, content, and external communications strategies across Curi’s enterprise digital platforms and traditional channels. Throughout her career, Jennifer has held several marketing leadership roles on both the agency and client sides. Prior to her role at Curi, Jennifer spent nearly 16 years leading marketing communications for Genworth Mortgage Insurance and over five years leading client marketing programs for Georges Direct, a direct marketing ad agency.

Ryan Crawford is the CEO of Curi Insurance, bringing over 20 years of experience in insurance and global risk transfer. Before joining Curi in 2017, he held roles at Erie Insurance Group and American Safety Insurance. At Curi, he previously served as Chief Actuary and SVP of Insurance Operations. Now as CEO, Ryan leads the company toward its strategic goals, focusing on innovative, client-centered solutions that support healthcare teams and enhance service delivery.

Brad Diericx is the CEO of Curi Advisory. Brad joined Curi in 2020 and has held several leadership roles within the organization, including Chief Commercial Officer and CEO of Curi Insurance.
As the CEO of Curi Advisory, Brad utilizes his extensive institutional knowledge and depth of experience to optimize the company’s growth strategy and ensure exceptional consulting solutions and services are provided to clients across the country. He is a firm believer in Curi’s vision—to be the trusted partner in medicine, business, and life.
Before Curi, Brad was the President and Chief Financial Officer of HDI Global U.S. Insurance Group and an Executive Vice President at Kingsway Financial, a publicly traded merchant bank. Outside work, Brad enjoys time with his family, exercise, community involvement, and playing golf.

Dimitri Eliopoulos is the CEO of Curi RMB Capital, a seasoned wealth management leader with 20 years of experience. He was a founding employee of RMB Capital in 2005, eventually becoming Partner and President of Wealth Management. In 2020, he became CEO of Curi Capital, expanding its national presence among physician clients. In 2023, he led the merger of Curi Capital and RMB Capital, forming Curi RMB Capital.

Sean Farrelly leads and executes underwriting strategy for the core physician business. He joined Curi in 2019. Prior to Curi, Sean served as the portfolio manager for US Medical Professional Liability reinsurance at PartnerRe, a global reinsurer. There, he also handled a diverse portfolio of casualty reinsurance business as a member of the broader US Casualty team. Prior to his time at PartnerRe, Sean held underwriting leadership roles at Odyssey Re, another leading global reinsurer. Sean graduated from Villanova University with a BS in Business Administration.

As the Senior Vice President, Insurance Counsel, for Curi Insurance, Nick Ghiselli manages day-to-day legal affairs, including board governance, regulatory issues, coverage, bad faith, and general litigation. In his role, Nick provides a legal perspective on company issues while proactively addressing potential legal problems.
In Nick’s view, it is essential that clients feel supported and have peace of mind that Curi will be there when they face a claim or legal issue. Nick’s extensive background in medical malpractice includes roles as a former prosecutor for the City and County of Denver, a medical malpractice defense litigator, and in-house legal counsel for COPIC Insurance. Nick enjoys skiing, fly fishing, weightlifting, and cycling in his spare time.

Derek Gordon leads a team of underwriters in providing the best coverage options for customers so that their care teams can focus on providing quality care. He brings over a decade of insurance industry experience to his role, including five years at AIG, where he worked with both professional and executive liability products. Having had experience in other lines of insurance allows Derek to understand a more holistic view of the customer’s business environment, to better provide solutions. And, because he began his career on the broker side of the business, he is able to assist broker partners with their needs as well.

Kristen Janicek serves as the Director of Claim Operations for Curi Insurance.
Before joining Curi, Kristen was both a registered nurse in surgery/trauma and an attorney focused on representing physicians in medical professional liability lawsuits.
As Director of Claim Operations, Kristen oversees the alignment of claims processes and procedures and is a key contributor on the Coverage Team, ensuring Curi is well-positioned to protect physicians and healthcare organizations across the country. Kristen joined Curi in 2018 as a Claims Consultant handling files in multiple states, was promoted to Director of Claims in January 2022, and began oversight of claim operations in November 2023.

Jim Kay is Curi’s Senior Vice President of Client and Broker Partnerships. With more than two decades of experience in the healthcare and insurance industry, Jim is responsible for managing Curi’s relationships with its member practices, physicians, and broker partners, and for maintaining a robust suite of member benefits. Prior to joining Curi, Jim served as Vice President of Business Development for Titan Health Corporation. He earned his BA in Economics and History from Wake Forest University.

Jason Newton is General Counsel at Curi. He joined Curi in 2013 after a 14-year career in private law practice defending physicians, advanced practice providers, and hospitals. Jason is an honorary Senior Fellow in the Litigation Counsel of America and recently spent several years serving on the Editorial Advisory Board for the Personal Injury and Medical Malpractice section of the national online legal publication Law360.
He has authored or contributed to over 35 publications. Jason is a nationally recognized and frequently sought-after speaker, and organizations regularly ask Jason to speak on a variety of topics relevant to healthcare and physicians around the country. He has given over 115 presentations to more than 12,000 healthcare providers, lawyers, and medical liability industry professionals.

Jason Sandner is the CEO of Curi and a member of the Curi Holdings Board of Directors. He joined the company in 2011 and most recently served as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer. Prior to his work with Curi, Jason was a Partner at Johnson Lambert. He has been featured in recent years on Business North Carolina's Power List of “Timely Leaders” and was selected for the Triangle Business Journal’s first-ever “Peak 25” list.
Jason has been and remains actively engaged in the community on both healthcare industry boards as well as other causes outside of healthcare. Jason, his wife Molly, and their five sons live in Raleigh, North Carolina, where he serves as head coach of their high school baseball team.

Brian Tucker is Curi Insurance’s Senior Vice President, Underwriting. Brian is an accomplished leader with a deep underwriting background and over 20 years of valuable medical professional liability insurance experience. Before joining Curi in 2021, Brian served as Senior Vice President, Medical Professional Liability, at Aspen Insurance.
In his role, Brian leads the underwriting department with the goal of delivering Curi’s products, services, and solutions to clients and broker partners in an efficient and consistent manner. He is driven to inspire his teams to profitably grow the enterprise while providing a best-in-class experience for clients. Brian believes that, through its product and services, Curi Insurance helps not only reduce liability risk but also promote the delivery of safe patient and senior living resident care. He is proud to work for a company that staunchly believes in defending good medicine, is focused on innovation, and keeps clients front and center at all times.
Outside of work, Brian enjoys spending time with his family, going to the gym, and cheering on his favorite hockey and baseball teams. Additionally, Brian has a small hobby vineyard on his property (with Zinfandel and Petite Sirah vines). Brian’s wife, Ami, is a family nurse practitioner, his daughter is a registered nurse, and one of his sons aspires to become a physician, so the protection of healthcare professionals is something that is deeply meaningful to him.
